Davidson County Man Dies In Train Accident

An analysis of data indicates that in the first half of 2013, there were 1,145 train accidents nationwide, 833 of which were derailments.  In North Carolina, there were 12 train accidents in the same period of time, 8 of which were derailments.  Though train accidents do not happen that often in North Carolina, when they do, they can result in serious injury or death.
